Back in primary school I used to compete in inter school cross country races. I absolutely hated them, but I was kind of a "natural" runner (if only that were true to this day). It was my last race of year 6, I was warming up with some school mates and as expected, I was really nervous.

One of the parents said "Just remember, I can, I will, I am.  When you're running repeat those words - I can do it, I will do it, I am doing it - it'll be over before you know it".

Any time life threw me any obstacles, those words played a vital role in getting through it. As I got older - and left school, the obstacles became fewer, until this lockdown.

The hardest part about this "race" to the finish line is not knowing where the finish line is. It was originally four weeks - 28 days - but right now, I don't know if that's going to be the case. So, I'm taking it day by day - and reminding myself, I can, I will I am. This will pass, and at the end of it - I won't have much of a story to tell other than staying home and running out of Netflix television shows to watch.

I'm just grateful for Facebook Messenger - allowing me to keep connected with my friends & family; and that I can enjoy the birdsong amongst the trees from my deck.
